New cover for L'Amore Perfetto!

I will admit I liked the pink cover for L'Amore Perfetto, but I knew it wasn't the best and it definitely wasn't perfect for its genre. Especially as it is such a nice, heart-warming romance.

As such, I have just redone the cover. It should be showing soon on Amazon and will be updated on Smashwords as well. Over the next few weeks that new cover will slowly make its way out to all the eRetailers. I hope you like it as much as I do.

It's just another six sentence sunday!

Happy Six Sentence Sunday!

Am I channeling the Bangles? Nope! But it is another amazing Six Sentence Sunday!

Hey again! Yep, it is another L'Amore Perfetto post for six sentence sunday - hope you don't mind!

This week I thought I would give you a look-see into how the guys are feeling about waiting to meet their soul mates. In this scene, Ryan and Christopher are visiting their father and Ryan has just announced that L'Amore Perfetto has found his soul mate.

“So, did he tell you anything about her?”

Ryan shook his head. “Nope. Just that she was at orientation for her training today and that he thought I would be bowled over by her.”

“She was at orientation?” Dad asked, raising his eyebrows.

“Yeah, why?”

As well, you should ask, Ryan! Read more in L'Amore Perfetto!

Character Studies

So many characters, so little time.

Usually when I write a story, I just take off and write. Each character introduces themself and I get to know them as the story progresses. Not this time.

For once I am writing a story so complex that I need to know the characters inside and out even before I begin. Thus... I am doing character stories. History stories of each character so I know why they are the way they are and how they react to certain incidents. I know I need to do it and I already have short bios of each character down. Now, I need to write their stories so that I can write THE story.

It makes it hard when I just want to start THE story. But, I shall press on! I think if I can get this done, the writing for the main story will go much smoother as I won't have to stop and think "who is this character again and how do they do things"?

An intriguing YA epic begins...

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Okay, so this is the first blog hop I have become involved in.

What is The Next Big Thing Blog Hop? Well, as an author I post information about a work in progress, giving you a look into what I am doing now as well as give a thank you to the person who told me about it and suggesting other authors. Okay, sounds simple enough! Let's try this thing:

The wonderful person that tagged my blog is Thianna D! Check out her Hop!

What is the working title of your book?
To be honest, I never title a story until it is complete, so it has the unlikely working title of "story 542". Engaging isn't it?

Where did the idea come from for the book?
I loved L'Amore Perfetto and the response to it has been amazing. Since I enjoy writing humor filled, feel-good romances and I enjoyed writing a story about a dating service, this just seemed to work.

What genre does your book fall under?
\It all depends on whether I make my character 28 or 16. I haven't quite decided yet. Either way it will be a romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Oh dear. I don't have any idea. The hero kind of looks like an older Taylor Lautner and the heroine, while I see her in my head - I can't think of any actress that would be like her.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Kind of depends on the age to be honest. But it will go something like this:
Tired of the dates her sister sets her up with, a young woman gives online dating a try -  completely shocked to find out she has tapped into a paranormal dating service; when it all comes down, can she truly love a man from another dimension?

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I hope to get this one published by a regular publisher. I would like to see it in print, not just in eFormat.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Still writing... and writing... and writing... My heroine is a talkative little thing, but I haven't had the time to finish it!

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
If I go young adult, I would say Twilight as it has that kind of feel. If not, I have no idea. LOL

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
The reaction to L'Amore Perfetto has been overwhelmingly positive and I still love reading it. I like to write things that I know people will read and re-read for years to come.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
There is a very bad character in this book. Positively evil - and he has had a hold on women in her family for centuries... she just doesn't know it yet.

Okay, And now for some blogs you should check out because they are written by amazing authors!

Six Sentence Sunday

As several people contacted me about my book from two weeks ago, I figured I would give a little more about L'Amore Perfetto here.

Imagine if you found a dating service that promised you the world. If you were accepted as one of their exclusive clientele, what would you go through to get there? In this scene from L'Amore Perfetto, Nicki and her roommates find out just what the application process is.

“Step 1: You will fill out the five-page questionnaire and submit it with two photos of just yourself, a face and a full body shot. No glamour shots accepted, they would be grounds for immediate refusal.
“Step 2: If you pass Step 1, you will be invited to an interview with five of our relationship specialists.
“Step 3: If you pass Step 2, you will be required to submit to a complete physical with a physician chosen by us.
“Step 4: If you pass Step 3, you will be invited to an intimate dinner party, so that we can observe you in a social situation.
“Step 5: If you reach Step 5, you will fill out a twenty-page questionnaire with one of our relationship experts. This will be an all-day interview.”

Looks a bit daunting, would you be willing to go through that? Nicki does and finds a life so much better than anything she ever expected.

Book Description:

Chick-lit meets a modern-day fairy-tale.

Nicki hates to date; the whole putting herself out there night after night after night is not her thing. Unfortunately, her roommate is the exact opposite. When Kristen comes up with her newest man-catching ploy, joining a discriminating dating service that accepts less than 5% of its female applicants, Nicki sees an opportunity and gets Kristen to agree that if she applies and does not get accepted, that Kristen won’t bug her about going out for nine months.

Six Sentence Sunday

Next week I will be back with more sentences from L'Amore Perfetto, but this week, I thought I would share a blurb from my green book.

I used to hate cleaning, mainly because of the caustic fumes, the way my hands would feel afterward (even when wearing gloves), and the knowledge of the man-made poisons I was using in my house. One day, I decided, NO WAY! and started researching green ways to clean my home. I tweaked the few that I found, created more, and used those recipes to create Green Cleaning.

For this six sentence sunday, I am giving you a recipe for my spider repellent sachet for your home.

For the spider repellent sachet, you will need cheesecloth, string, cedar shavings, 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 5 drops of Tea Tree Oil. Cut large squares (double strength) of cheesecloth and place cedar shavings in the center. Add Lavender and Tea Tree Oils. Tie up with string. Place under the sink, in cupboards, anywhere spiders roam. When scent weakens, shake and add a few more drops of oil.

Book Description:

Ever wanted to throw out all those caustic cleaning chemicals? Well, now you can. Green Cleaning will show you how you can clean your home with products such as Baking Soda and Lemon Juice, Vinegar and Lavender. Now you can clean your home, knowing that:

You can save money!
Your family is safe from chemicals
You are helping the Earth! (no more chemicals entering our food and water supply)

Six Sentence Sunday:

I do love this Six Sentence Sunday idea where I can share with you a snippit of my work. This week, I am introducing you to Braun, the lead character in In Search of the Drasta, a fantasy novel.

The junior scientists were ecstatic as they had so many ideas that the seniors would not even think of. They made the proposal that the person who came up with an idea that worked would become Chief Scientist forever, or until he decided to step down. Their offer accepted: they set about making plans. Of the seventeen scientists who were trying to fix the problem, 3 groups ended up forming: one group of twelve, one group of four, and one lone scientist who said he did not want to work with others because he was too smart for any of them, which is the actual reason none of them had asked him to be on their team. Braun Tapesh was, in fact, quite brilliant, but he truly believed himself better than anyone else.

As ideas were put forth and rejected, the junior scientists started to worry about their own fates.

Book Description:

Some days it just doesn’t pay to be brilliant. Braun Tapesh is the chief scientist for the planet E’Loi and is happy to tell anyone who happens to be standing near him that it is he who saved his planet.

Despite his advanced scientific knowledge, Braun makes a small mistake and unwillingly finds himself on a rescue mission to find the Drasta—the last true Eloim female born on the planet. Unwillingly thrown into his own science experiment, he is tossed across the universe in a special chamber he created. Much to his dismay, he is transported into the body of a university student and must learn to eat Earth food and adjust to life on a college campus—all while still focusing on his important mission to locate the Drasta and bring her home. Soon, he is traveling from planet-to-planet with two humans, a princess, and a half-dwarf in tow. But someone else is on the same mission and will do anything to snatch the Drasta first.

Just when Braun wonders what could possibly be worse, he realizes he never should have asked.
