Not quite what I was going for #8sunday #ya #metaphysics #romance #fantasy

Hello Weekend Writing Warriors :)

I have another snippet from Tryad, my young adult metaphysical romance which will be out on December 30th. This takes off directly from my last 8Sunday post.

Wait. Where was I?

Oh, right. Princess blanket. Ugh.

Bringing to mind a purple satin blanket with a golden dragon, I focused my mind – well, I tried – and five minutes later when I opened my eyes, I groaned as I spotted a pink and purple blanket with a princess being ripped apart by a dragon. Not quite what I was going for. But then, transporting myself here to there was much easier than actually doing something to an object.

Tryad
Book One, The Tryad Series

Kaylee thought learning energy work was fun, especially as it got her from here to there with barely a thought. Back from energy camp for her junior year in high school, her carefree use of energy is noted by two new teenagers in town: Heath and Vane. Annoyed at and attracted to them at the same time, she doesn't expect to find out the three of them are part of a Tryad, wherein when all three energies combine it is postulated that nothing can stop them from doing anything they want.

The more the three of them interact, the more intense their energy. When a man intent on controlling them attacks, they flee to train together. Until he kidnaps Kaylee’s parents. With no time to prepare, Heath, Vane, and Kaylee must face this man and try to rescue her parents before it’s too late.

Now off you go to read some amazing snippets from even more amazing authors. :)

Just ask my camp counselor #8sunday #YA #metaphysics #romance

Hello Weekend Writing Warriors :)

Unfortunately, she must have decided while I was away at camp to turn my room into a princess paradise. Glaring at the offensive pink and white blanket, I took a moment to calm myself while closing my eyes. One thing I learned at camp was not to try and change things while angry. The consequences could be disastrous. Just ask my camp counselor. Err, never mind. Don't ask her. You wouldn't believe it anyway.

Another snippet from Tryad for #8sunday #YA #metaphysics #romance #fantasy

Hello, Weekend Writing Warriors! I'm excited to be back with you today with another snippet from Tryad. This picks up from where my previous 8 left off.

* * *

Amused, I barely kept the smirk off my face as I turned and walked back into the house. Once I was pretty sure I was out of sight, I imagined myself in my bedroom and was there. So much easier than walking up three flights of stairs. Mom seemed to think I could levitate, which was kind of funny, when in fact, I could actually transport myself from one place to another using nothing more than the energy that surrounded me. Humming to myself, I went to lay down when I saw what blanket was on my bed. The growl that ripped through my throat might not be scary, but it was real enough to me. Mom had been lamenting that her little girl was growing up. At the age of sixteen, I would certainly hope so.
